Martin Kvist, M.sc.

I am a 40-year-old father, scientist, and technology enthusiast with a Master of Science degree in Sport Science from Aalborg University. My journey has been diverse, starting from my earliest career in forestry to becoming a key figure in the field of acrobatics and sport science, and eventually venturing into the realm of technology and software development.

Academic and Professional Background

My academic research focused on “The Effects of Fatigue on 3-Dimensional Shoulder Kinematics,” and it was during this time that I became deeply involved with Partner Acrobatics. I was instrumental in elevating the brand to international recognition, particularly through the development of their injury prevention program, “Prehab.” This program is a synthesis of cutting-edge sport science, my own research, and the collective wisdom of master therapists and athletes worldwide.

Passion for Teaching and Technology

My work in sport science ignited my passion for teaching and learning theory, equipping me with the skills to effectively communicate complex scientific research and methods. I’ve coached gold medal-winning sport teams and educated the graduating class of Denmark’s first experimental professional circus education, AMOC.

My fascination with technology led me to advocate for Open Source Software and ethical tech use. I’ve applied this passion practically, from managing GNU/Linux systems to founding Linux Labs, a company dedicated to ethical software solutions and cloud engineering for the healthcare and education sectors.

Humanizing Technology at AKROBAT®

In 2019, I joined AKROBAT® Ability Coaching as their CTO. Here, I’ve been pivotal in navigating the complexities of digitalizing human experiences and needs. My role is not just technical; it’s also about ensuring that technology serves humanity, particularly those facing existential challenges such as disability, social disadvantage, and trauma.

A Commitment to Ethical and Sustainable Practices

My commitment to ethical practices extends beyond technology. I wrote my master’s thesis using Literate Programming and Free Open Source Software (FOSS) tools, ensuring a truly reproducible, dynamically generated report. This reflects my broader interest in sustainability and my dream of establishing a sustainable living and permaculture community.

Vision

I believe in designing lives, creating destinies, and mastering journeys. Whether it’s through sport science, technology, or community building, my work aims to empower individuals to navigate life’s challenges and thrive.
